Heroic Gizmo

I'm not sure if you guys know this, but many human feet are attacked every day by these ferocious amalgams of leather, rubber, and string known as "shoes". They latch onto the poor foot, completely engulfing it, and preventing it from breathing.

The results of these attacks can be devastating--for example, when toes have been eaten by a shoe, they are not available for foxes to pounce on or lick. Also, a foot that is in a shoe cannot have the sock stolen off of it.

Clearly, shoes are a very real issue that needs to be addressed.

Well, a while back, not long before I was heading to work, Gizmo noticed that one of these dastardly creations had affixed itself to my foot, and it showed no intentions of letting me go!

Thinking quickly, he leapt into action. Dashing at lightning-speed, he darted under my feet, tripping me up. As I went to pick myself up, he sprang on the offending shoe, sank his fangs deep into the rubber part, and gave a quick jerk of his head, separating the rubber from the leather top along one half of the shoe.

(It was still reasonably together, and I was running late, so I just wore it to work that way.)

I feel truly blessed to have such a brave pet who would selflessly, and at great personal peril, defeat my shoes in such a fashion. A lesser animal would have waited until they were no longer on my feet to deliver the killing strike, but no, not Gizmo! He charged right in when it mattered the most; toes were at stake!

Without a doubt, I have the best fox ever.

  1. Hehehe I could not stop laughing at this one.
I have lost many a shoe to Harry and Elspeth even in the short time I have had them (or more they have had me) but they have never been as brave as Gizmo. They always take them in their sleep by the side of my bed.

    Well done Gizmo!
